Meeting Game of Thrones fans is apparently a very “special” experience. Oberyn Martell actor Pedro Pascal has wanted to set eyes on her for years, while fellow GOT offshoot House of the Dragon Olivia Cooke seems to regularly offer opinions on their controversy figure is played.
‘You’re the woman from House of the Dragon’: Olivia Cooke’s bizarre fan encounter
Olivia Cooke plays Alicent Hightower, the queen’s queen in the fantasy series, who resorts to some dubious methods throughout Season 1 to put her son on the throne. In the podcast Unwrapped, she explained why she Dislike of fans towards their characters partly even welcomed:
I don’t want to play characters that need universal liking … That’s kind of the beauty of what we do.
Nevertheless, the extreme reactions for Cooke take some getting used to. On the same podcast, she shared an anecdote with a viewer:
Last night at the pub a woman came up to me and said, ‘You’re the woman from House of the Dragon, your character is such an F-word, I hate you‘ and I was just like, ‘Oh…okay’.

In the meantime, the actress is trying not to let such comments get to her. Cooke explained on the podcast that she is slowly developing a thicker skin and no longer takes comments of this kind personally. And there is a silver lining on the horizon: at least Cooke, unlike Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, has not suffered an infection.
When is House of the Dragon season 2 coming?
It will be a while before we see Olivia Cooke’s Alicent Hightower again. Season 2 of the fantasy series is coming at the earliest in the summer of 2024.
Despite the writers’ strike in Hollywood, House of the Dragon is still in production.
That’s what the fantasy series is about
Around 200 years before the noble families Stark, Lannister and Baratheon are involved in the power struggle for Westeros and Daenerys Targaryen hatches a plan to regain the throne on the continent of Essos, the Targaryen family rules Westeros.
We follow the dynasty of the Targaryens, who reached the peak of their power after Aegon I conquered the Seven Kingdoms. But soon a devastating power struggle breaks out, the dance of the dragons. The fall of the Targaryen dynasty is inevitable.
