Six months ago, the Bolloré group sold its assets in Africa to the Italian-Swiss group MSC. Its subsidiary Africa Global Logistics (AGL Congo) ensures that all employees have been maintained, particularly at the Pointe-Noire container terminal, put under concession in 2009 for 30 years. The new buyer even intends to continue the investments.

In the distance, the gantries of the port of Pointe-Noire, which rise to more than 40 meters, are in constant movement. Two of the eight machines were acquired and installed after the takeover of Bolloré Transport & Logistics which took place last December.
Their drivers and many other agents are still on duty, according to Christophe Pujalte, AGL’s regional director for Congo and the DRC. ” There were no upheavals in the Congo, as there have been in other countries. Everything went well, because labor law in Congo effectively protects workers. To date, we can boast of not having had any change in the workforce. This integration into the MSC group has not brought us more problems than we had before, on the contrary makes us optimistic for the future. », specifies Christophe Pujalte.
AGL Congo intends to continue the modernization and extension of the container terminal. To date, the investments made are already significant.
” Today, thanks to the trust placed in the Bolloré group, now AGL, we have invested around 400 million euros, handled more than one million containers in 2022. This is a figure that we have also exceeded in 2021, i.e. five times more than in 2009 (date of obtaining the concession, Editor’s note)”, recalls Mr. Pujalte.
Another ambition of the group: to become a major player in oil logistics and a partner of companies such as Total, Eni and Perenco.
