Christopher Nolan recently spoke about his new film “Oppenheimer”. The well-known director said he was extremely impressed by the performance of a certain actor.

Director Christopher Nolan is considered one of the greatest filmmakers of our time, best known for the complex storytelling in his films.

    “You make a claim on an actor that very few actors in the history of cinema can live up to.”

    Christopher Nolan spoke to Total Film Magazine about his upcoming film Oppenheimer. The director praised the performance of the lead actor Cillian Murphy, known for example from the Netflix series Peaky Blinders or the Dark Knight films as the villain Scarecrow.

    “The truth is, there aren’t that many actors who can directly say, ‘Yeah, we’re going to be this guy for three hours,'” Nolan said.

    The director continued, “You make a demand on an actor that very few actors in the history of cinema can live up to.”

    Although the director had worked with the actor several times in the past and was aware of the actor’s talent, he was once again impressed:

    “I have to say, despite my already great faith in him, he kept surprising me every day on set. And when we got into the edit room and put the performance together and saw the authenticity behind it, I was absolutely blown away.”

    When is Nolan’s new movie coming out? The historical drama Oppenheimer will have its cinema release on July 20, 2023. Cillian Murphy plays the American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is considered the “father of the atomic bomb”.

    In addition to Murphy, other well-known faces such as Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon are part of the cast.
