Authorities reported that 179 of the injured were hospitalized, and efforts are underway to evacuate more than 600 passengers trapped on the train.

Regarding the tragic accident, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that rescue operations are continuing in the region and that “all possible assistance” has been given to those affected.
