Hysén’s career

Today, Hysén has turned 63 years old and the quiet life as a pensioner is fast approaching. But now the football legend reveals that he has made a life-changing decision and opens up about the near future.
– I have taken early retirement, I am not 65 yet. I felt it when you see certain things happening. Above all this with Börje Salming, says Hysén in an interview with SportExpressen.
– He goes from being as energetic as possible, then six months go by and then he’s dead. So I said as long as I can stand on two legs I will go out and do as much as I can.

Salming’s death
It has been seven months since the icon Börje Salming passed away from the effects of the neurological disease ALS. A tragic death that affected all of Sweden and that made Glenn Hysén make a drastic decision.

He realized that life is far too fragile and that one should not put off anything or even skimp on the money.
– I have decided that I will take out every single kroner, every single insurance money, everything, everything, everything and then go out and travel. As much as possible, with Camilla my wife then of course, Glenn admits in the interview.

Hysén also dreams of buying a house abroad to leave the country in the winter and enjoy more summer hours.
– I’m sure the thoughts have been about an apartment in Spain or something like that, it’s not completely impossible. But you don’t want to live there all year round. I really enjoy Sweden, but maybe a few months a year, he says to the evening newspaper.
