(Finance) – Spanish inflation is expected to fall in May. According to theSpanish National Institute of Statistics (INE)which released a flash estimate today, year-on-year inflation is estimated at 3.2% versus 4.1% in April, lower than the consensus 4.4%.
The consumer price index on a monthly basis records a decrease of 0.1% after +0.6% in April. The figure compares with the +0.9% expected by the market.
L’harmonized inflationwhich takes into account a different and identical basket for the whole EU, should record a trend increase of 2.9%, lower than the 4.1% of the consensus and compared to the 3.8% of the previous month.
