Frida Karlsson ended the season with a luxury trip.
Then she suffered a serious setback.
Now she reveals the unknown disease she suffered from.
Frida Karlsson comes from a messy season that has been up and down to say the least. She has not managed to stay completely disease-free, and it cost her dearly. Karlsson did not become, as many had expected, the great medal queen during the WC, and after the season she wanted to luxuriate in that.
Revealing the setback
Karlsson has certainly been abroad a lot in recent years anyway – partly through various competitions around Europe and the world, but she is also a regular traveler to Mallorca, where the training opportunities in the mountains are great. But there haven’t been any luxury trips for Karlsson, who therefore struck recently.
Karlsson brought a friend from home to the island of Curacao in the Caribbean Sea.
– Now that the “covid” was over, I wanted to enjoy it a little. Celebrate the season, she tells Expressen.
She continues:
– It was very dreamy. Super lovely days with only focus on things I don’t do otherwise in my life.

“Thought it was over”
But all was not peace and joy. When the national team gathered for a pre-season kick off recently, a mile run was on the schedule. Karlsson was not recognizable at all, and there was an explanation.
– This was actually the first time I ran at all this spring, she says.
During her luxury trip, Karlsson suffered from covid-19, which forced her to rest. Frida Karlsson talks about the great surprise when she received the news.
– Yes, I thought it was over, she says.
Ebba Andersson was instead the fastest in the women’s national team during the mile that was run, when she came in at an impressive 37.17.
