The release of Diablo 4 is just around the corner and the new trailer, masterfully staged under the direction of the Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, captivates us because: Lilith comes to destroy the world.
Blizzard’s advertising campaigns for Diablo 4 are in full swing. Now the developers are presenting a lavishly produced live-action trailer that was released on Thursday. The haunting video is directed by Chloé Zhao with co-director Kiku Ohe.
The new trailer focuses on emotions:
Diablo 4 is scheduled for release on June 6th and will run simultaneously for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Those who pre-order the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition can even start on June 2nd. There will also be a preload.
Who is Chloe Zhao? Chinese director and screenwriter Chloé Zhao has been awarded an Oscar for her outstanding contribution to the film “Nomadland”. Chloé Zhao also directed the sci-fi action film Eternals.
Chloé Zhao’s films are no longer shown in China because of her earlier statements in an interview about the political and social climate in her home country.
“Can your shadow be our light?”
What is this Diablo 4 trailer? The trailer takes us into a world where a man mourns the death of his horse in a snowy field, a child seeks help in a burned-out village, and other unfortunate souls desperately beg for rescue.
The individual hero classes of Diablo 4, which are introduced with suitable quotes, form the contrast to the dramatic scenes. Thus the “assassin-like” bow and arrow huntress appears after the child asks “Will you save us?” and the necromancer appears after a woman asks “Can your shadow be our light?”
The trailer ends with the stunning appearance of Lilith behind the child, who whispers “Hurry up.” into the camera. Finally, the text “Deliver us from evil” is displayed.
