(Finance) – The beginning of a fire on a historic train near the Carovilli-Roccasicura station. This is the scenario simulated by one emergency drill which took place this morning in gallery “Carovilli”along the Sulmona-Isernia line, in Molise. Important – highlights FS News, the information portal of the FS Group – the contribution provided by Italian railway network, leader of the Infrastructure Pole of the FS Group And FS Foundation which, by making both the historic train and some service vehicles available, made possible the simulated emergency context on board the train, where passenger evacuation, tunnel rescue and search operations were carried out, even in extreme, of some lost travellers. The simulation also involved the use of the asphalt-rail bimodal vehicle, delivered by RFI to the regional command of the Fire fighters.
The exercise is part of the communication update activities in emergency situations of the Regional Directorate of the Fire Brigade of Molise and was preceded by a training phase for the personnel of the Isernia and Campobasso fire brigade commands. The objective of the activity, coordinated by the prefect of Isernia, Franca Tancrediwas to monitor the effectiveness of the communication flow and the coordination chain, as well as the promptness of the intervention of the local structures and create synergies between the components of the Civil Protection System.
Various extras were involved, volunteers from the Civil Protection, the National Association of Firefighters and the National Carabinieri Association, as well as the personnel of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps (CNSAS) and the National Agency for the Safety of Road and Motorway Infrastructures (ANSFISA). Also present was the helicopter unit of the Pescara Fire Brigade, the men of the State Police, the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the Railway Police, the Traffic Police, as well as the agents of the local and Provincial Police, coordinated by the Isernia Police Headquarters.
For the health operations ASREM and 118 personnel were present, assisted by the Italian Red Cross – Isernia Committee and the Italian Rescue Corps of the Order of Malta (CISOM).
