Twenty-three years that the Total War series has existed and is delighting players who love real-time strategy and in 2023, a new episode is planned. This is Total War PHARAOH, which as its name suggests, will transport us to ancient Egypt. This new episode comes just one year after Total War Warhammer 3, which proves that on the side of The Creative Assembly studio, we are not idle. This time, we will slip into the shoes of a pharaoh who will have to save Egypt from destruction and guide his people in the troubled times of the collapse of the Bronze Age. Since the pharaoh is dead, several factions will fight for the throne (Egypt, Canaan, the Hittite Empire). In game, we can count on 8 Faction Leaders, from three different and particularly rich cultural heritages, with obviously a distinct style of play. Total War PHARAOH will take the usual mechanics of the series, but will introduce a real-time weather system, which will have a considerable impact on the clashes on the ground. Between thunderstorms, fires and sandstorms, we will also have to manage these unforeseen events so as not to be overwhelmed.
The Creative Assembly also announces a new Campaign Customization option, with different criteria made available, such as the random starting position of factions, particular resource parameters or the frequency of natural disasters, among others. A way like any other to modify the difficulty of the title. The release of Total War PHARAOH is expected for October 2023 on PC, and while waiting for gameplay images, here is the cinematic trailer, always with the most beautiful effect.
