Since Russia decided to invade Ukraine and declare war on it, many Ukrainian studios have been holding their breath. Quite a few of them have already warned players that their safety comes first and that some projects may experience delays due to the conflict that has just been declared. After GSC Game World and the game STALKER 2, it’s Polish studio 11bit’s turn to make a statement in support of Ukraine. In a message posted on social networks, we learn that all profits from the game This War of Mine over the next 7 days will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. As a reminder, This War of Mine is a game whose anti-war theme has been recognized internationally for its frontal treatment of the suffering and misery experienced by civilians affected by armed conflict.
Today, Russian military forces attacked Ukraine, a free country – our neighbors. As a Polish game studio and creators of the globally acclaimed anti-war game This War of Mine – a game that speaks directly to the suffering and misery of war-affected civilians – we would like to hereby announce the statement of our company: we oppose the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, mere words would be meaningless without meaningful action, and timing is crucial, so our support is this: for the next seven days, all proceeds from This War of Mine, all DLC, on all stores and all platforms will go to a special fund. In a week, this money will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross to directly support the victims of the war in Ukraine.
Share everything you know about this war and how war kills people, devastates their lives and their homes. Let’s do together, players and developers, all we can to support the victims of the war in Ukraine.
We wish them a lot of courage in these uncertain and terrible times.
