MSB’s warning concerns, among other things, parts of Jönköping County, Södermanland County, Örebro County and Östergötland County.
At the same time, SMHI has also issued a general high risk of forest fire locally. Among other things in eastern Götaland, parts of western Götaland and parts of eastern Svealand.
– It is important not to put yourself in a situation where you start a grass fire this year. Maybe you should think about whether you have to grill in the forest when there is a high fire risk, there are other nice ways to have a picnic, says Elin Bohman, press secretary at MSB.
According to P4 Jönköping, there is an extremely high risk of forest fire in parts of Jönköping.
– It is very dry in the forest and ground and if there is a spark, it can be a little extra flammable in those areas, says Alexandra Olsson, meteorologist at SMHI to P4 Jönköping.
The fire was fought by helicopter
During Tuesday morning, the rescue service at Södertörn’s firefighting association fought a forest fire between Hemfosa and Träsksjön in Haninge municipality.
Helicopters from the Norwegian Agency for Community Safety and Preparedness (MSB) have been called in to waterbomb the fire.
– The fire is now surrounded, there is no risk of spreading. Fortunately, there are no nearby buildings and it’s not windy, says Anders Sessler, officer on duty at the rescue service, to SVT Stockholm.
