Originally from Lubumbashi, Baloji grew up in Liège, Belgium. The toddler, once torn from his mother by his father, has made a name for himself as a poet, rapper and jack-of-all-trades artist. At 45, he has just presented the world premiere of “Augure (Omen)”, the first Congolese fiction in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. Portrait in a word, a gesture and a silence.
