Breukelen, IJsselstein – A lot still goes wrong in large slaughterhouses. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), which continuously monitors work in the slaughterhouses, found 30 violations in the province in the first half of last year. These are slaughterhouses in Breukelen and IJsselstein, where hygiene was usually not guaranteed, but in a quarter of the cases animal welfare was also not guaranteed.
