Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi “does not believe” that Bachmut is no longer under Ukrainian control. He says this during the G7 meeting in Hiroshima, Japan.
He adds at the same time that the city was destroyed during the many months of intense fighting that took place there.
– Today Bachmut exists only in our hearts, says Zelenskyi.
On Saturday, Russia claimed to have captured Bachmut with the support of forces from the Wagner Group. This information has previously been refuted by the Ukrainian military.
