– Before the match, when the supporters were going to the arena, they bumped into each other and then there was a rush with subsequent fights, says Jens Andersson of the police to TT.
The police positioned themselves between the groups and managed to separate them on Heden in central Gothenburg.
A police officer was kicked in the back and a report of violence against an official has been made.
The police have access to camera footage and are working to identify suspects.
According to Jens Andersson, it is calm at the site now.
“We have increased preparedness so that there will be no further disturbances there,” he says.
