Match guide: Sweden–France

Where: Nokia Arena, Tampere.

When: Saturday at 19.20.

TV/radio: SVT2/SVT Play and P4 Radiosporten.

Team results so far, Sweden: Germany 1–0, Austria 5–0, Finland 2–1 on penalties, Hungary 7–1. France: Austria 2–1 after extra time, Denmark 3–4 e förl, Hungary 2–3 e förl, Finland 3–5.

Chasing the group victory: Sweden is in practice ready for the playoffs, but needs one more point to be there in theory as well. However, the sights are set on the playoffs and then three points are needed against France and Denmark (Monday) before the group final against the USA (Tuesday) looks set to be decisive.

Good starting position: France has taken one win so far, but points in two more games. So it looks good in what is the team’s big goal, to avoid last place in the group and thus relegation. In theory, the team still has a playoff chance and in its best moments, France is not harmless. In the last match, Finland was under pressure, which decided in an empty net.
