He was born in 1962 in Tokyo to a film-loving mother and a father haunted by his experiences in the Japanese army during World War II and his imprisonment in a labor camp in Siberia. Revealed internationally in 2004 with Nobody KnowsKore-eda has signed masterpieces like Like father, like sonreleased in 2013.
