Two men in their 20s have been shot in Askim, the police confirm.
Five people are brought in for questioning.

At 5:38 p.m., the police received an alert about a suspicious shooting in Askim in southern Gothenburg. Two people were found shot.
– It is about two men in their 20s, says Fredrik Flyberg.
There is currently a large police operation underway at the site, which is described as a residential area.
The two men who were shot have been taken to hospital.
– One is seriously injured but stable, the other is slightly injured, says Fredrik Flyberg.

Now the police are hunting one or more suspected perpetrators. So far, they have taken five people in for questioning, but no one has been arrested.
According to information to GP the shooting has “clear connections” to gang conflicts in southern Gothenburg, but that is something the police cannot confirm.
Last year, the two shot men appeared together in a case in the Gothenburg District Court regarding a decision to confiscate protective vests as they are both said to be living under threat. Both have previously been convicted of various drug offences, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
The police are otherwise tight-lipped about the incident.
– It is an ongoing investigation so I cannot say anything more about the circumstances, says Fredrik Flyberg.
