A horror game full of androids and puzzles

In SIGNALIS you wake up as an android named Elster from hibernation on an ice planet. On this planet there is an abandoned company complex that you are trying to explore to find Magpie’s lost partner and organize her fragmented memories.

Exploration takes place in classic survival horror gameplay. Through tank control a la Silent Hill you try to navigate through the deserted rooms of the complex. But you are not alone and you have to defend yourself with different weapons and objects.

As with its other genre representatives, you have to be economical with your resources such as ammunition and medipacks and consider whether every fight is really worth it. Besides the fights, there are many puzzles to solve to get deeper into the complex.

The game is accompanied by a confused but exciting story, which lives above all from its atmosphere. The story about fragmented dreams and visions is also reminiscent of anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion.

If you have not yet made any contact with anime, we have 5 series that will seduce you to anime.

How much does SIGNALIS cost? You can currently get Signalis with a 20% discount. Instead of €19.99 you pay €15.99. This offer is valid until Sunday 21st May 2023.

How is SIGNALIS rated? The game currently has 96% positive reviews on Steam. (via Steam, as of May 17, 2023.)

In the reviews, the users especially praise the atmosphere and elevate the game to the same level as classics like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.

  • Lloyd Laugh Love: Disturbing, unsettling, hopeless and beautiful. Just the survival horror I’ve been waiting for since Silent Hill 2.
  • P1NKAC1D: Awesome old school survival horror with a dystopian oppressive sci-fi setting. Very dark and weird like Silent Hill, the sound design and the music are also very reminiscent of it.
  • Sakarias88: An incredibly good game. The worst part is when you finish and get hit with the post game depression because most of the games aren’t that good.
  • The German computer game prize also crowned SIGNALIS with 3 prizes. The 2-person studio rose-engine received the young talent prize and the prize for the best debut at the event. But probably the best prize for a horror game is the award for the best audio design.
