Dwayne Johnson returns as part of a Credits scene back to the franchise. That is, he is not part of the main plot. You have to remain seated for about 2 minutes from the beginning of the credits to see the scene. There we watch Hobbs on a mission. At first he appears masked. Then it becomes clear: Hobbs is on the vengeance list of Fast 10 villain Dante (Jason Momoa). Dwayne Johnson pulls the mask off his face: the surprise is perfect.
