Fikayo Tomori was brand new in Milan.
Then he was shocked by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s words – about his luxurious accommodation.
– I immediately thought: “Well, this is the Zlatan I recognize from social media”, says the star.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not only one of the greatest strikers of all time. He’s also made a name for himself by being 100 percent himself, and that’s led to some great moments over the years. Ibrahimovic is not exactly shy and slow to praise himself, and it has always been that way.

However, Ibrahimovic has always been praised for his leadership and the way he looks after his teammates. And that’s exactly how it was when Fikayo Tomori joined Milan from Chelsea. The centre-back is today one of the best in the world, but was quite unproven when he came to Milan. And he didn’t know what to expect when it came to Zlatan.
Tomori says he was nervous when Ibrahimovic first appeared in the dressing room.
– I didn’t know what was coming. You see everything about him on the internet and social media, about what he says and what he is like as a person. He’s really sure of who he is, I’d say. He knows all his qualities, says Tomori.

“The Zlatan I got to know”
However, Ibrahimovic was initially friendly, asking questions about Tomori’s private life.
– I remember our first meeting. He asked me where I lived somewhere. I answered him, and he told me it was in a building near his, Tomori says.
But that’s when Tomori found out who Ibrahimovic really is – but the absolutely nicest and cockiest quote ever.
– He said to me: “You know the black building?”. I replied: “Yes, I have seen it”. Then he just said: “I live in that building, very high up, so that God can see over the whole city”.
– I remember thinking: “This is exactly the Zlatan I heard so much about on social media”.
