Inter ready for Champions League final – first in 13 years

Inter clinched the first final place in the Champions League after the derby at Giuseppe Meazza.
Last year’s winner Real Madrid or the champion Manchester City await there.
– Of course it’s a big bang, says Kim Källström in C More’s studio.

It was win or lose when Serie A sides Inter and Milan faced each other on Tuesday night. The Milan teams settled for a final place in the Champions League.

One of Inter’s big players, Romelu Lukaku, started on the bench. Instead, Lautaro Martínez and Edin Džeko started on top. Big star Rafael Leão was back in Milan’s starting eleven after an injury.

Inter stepped out with a clear advantage after a 2-0 win in the first of two semi-finals. But it wouldn’t be as easy on Tuesday night.

It took until the 74th minute of the match before Martínez was able to score the only goal of the match, assisted by substitute Lukaku.

– There are two players in great form who are in concert, commented Olof Mellberg in C More’s broadcast.

“Very stable”

Then Milan’s uphill was too steep. The match ended 1-0, which means that Inter clinches the first final place.

– Of course it’s a big deal. But they have been very stable and with each victory the self-confidence has increased a little, says Kim Källström in C More’s studio.

Whether the final opposition will be last year’s winner Real Madrid or Manchester City with the goal-spewing Norwegian Erling Haaland at the helm remains to be seen.

The second semi-final will be decided on Wednesday evening and the grand final will take place on June 10. Both matches can be seen on C More.
