The Dallas Stars advanced to the conference finals in the hockey league NHL.
Dallas defeated the Seattle Kraken on their home ice in the seventh game that decided the series 2–1. Dallas won the series 4–3. Dallas Stars Finnish forward Roope Hintz was on Tuesday morning again in an excellent attack and scored a 1-0 goal in the second period.
Hintz caught the puck, shot away and a sharp shot sank into the goal.
Hintz is second in the NHL playoff points market with 19 points (9+10). Only the Edmonton superstar is ahead of him Connor McDavidbut Edmonton’s season ended on Monday with a loss to Vegas.
The 2–0 goal was raised skillfully with his knuckle Wyatt Johnston in the third period.
of Seattle Oliver Björkstrand managed to narrow it down at the very end of the match in 59.42, but the second goal was not seen in the last seconds. Johnston, a 20-year-old rookie forward, became the youngest player to score a game-winning goal in NHL history.
There was also an interesting moment in the middle of the match when Wrapper The Eurovision hit Cha Cha Cha played during the game break. A fan from Seattle came into the pictures, who obviously got excited about the song.
The wrapper ie Jere Pöyhönen used to play in the same junior team as a Finnish defender in Dallas Esa Lindell with.
Lindell recorded a good 22 minutes of playing time in Dallas’ defense. Miro Heiskanen was, as usual, the king of Dallas’ playing time, when he spent 32 minutes on the field. Also played in Dallas Joel Kiviranta without power markings but Jani Hakanpää was not in the team composition.
Hintz admitted to the media after the game that his goal was big.
– I think this was our best game of the series, Hintz comment after the match. (you switch to another service)
– Everyone was in the game today. We all worked on the ice. We tried to play a simple game. We worked on our feet.
Heiskanen was confident as usual in Dallas’ defense.
– It’s wonderful that we have him. He plays half the game and helps us in attack and defense, Hintz beamed.
Heiskanen also sent praise in the other direction.
– Hintz has been a really big player for us. He has been unreal throughout the playoffs. He is so strong and fast with the puck. Roope can also defend. He’s been fun to watch. Hintz can certainly play even better, but he has been our best player, Heiskanen fumed.
The Dallas goalkeeper has a unique feeling
One of Dallas’ characters was the goalkeeper in the match Jake Oettinger. In the previous game in Seattle, he was taken in the middle of everything off the goal as Seattle rumbled to victory. Now, however, Oettinger elegantly rejected the victory.
Dallas will face Vegas in the conference finals. The last time Dallas was in the conference finals was in 2020. Even then, Vegas faced off. Dallas was then stronger in five games and advanced to the league finals. At that time, however, Tampa Bay was stronger in Edmonton’s “corona bubble”.
Dallas has only won a championship once, in 1999. Oettinger was brimming with confidence after knocking off Seattle.
– I think every year you can’t honestly say that we can win. This year, I think we can win the championship, Oettinger stated.
– We have everything. When we play the way we want to and do the little things right, we can beat anybody. That kind of belief is pretty cool. Everyone in the locker room thinks so. It’s a unique thing. Not every team can say that.
Seattle has a great season
Eeli Tolvanen moved to Seattle from Nashville in the middle of the season and played a top season in the Kraken, but the union was no longer enough to bring down Dallas.
Seattle’s season was quite the story. In the opening round of the playoffs, Seattle sent reigning champion Colorado on summer break. Seattle also made NHL history in the regular season. Never before has a new team improved as much in terms of regular season points from its debut season to its second season.
– We tried as hard as we could today. We just couldn’t find the biggest gear, Seattle coach Dave Hakstol comment.
– Dallas must be given credit in that sense. They somewhat responded to the previous game. They came to their home hall and put pressure on us.
There are still 13 Finns fighting for the Stanley Cup, the NHL championship. It is already certain that at least three Finns will play in the NHL finals, as Florida and Carolina will play in the finals of the Eastern Conference.
