Five people aged 15–18 will remain in custody on suspicion of murdering a taxi driver in Enköping.
– It is very unusual, says prosecutor Moa Blomqvist.
It was at the beginning of April that a man, a 26-year-old taxi driver, was found dead in a natural area in Enköping. The man had then been reported missing for a week.
Four brothers and a girl have been in custody since April and May on suspicion of the murder on probable grounds. The Uppsala district court has now decided that all five will be remanded in custody.
– It is very unusual to have five such young people in custody for murder, especially since it is not gang-related, says prosecutor Moa Blomqvist.
The motive for the murder is not known at this time.
– We are actively investigating if there is a motive image and what it would be. There are several possible options.
There have previously been reports that it is a matter of revenge, but the prosecutor neither wants to confirm nor deny it.
– It is a task we have been given, but it is not something that we can say is correct. It is one task among several that we are investigating.
According to the prosecutor, it is too early to say when possible charges may be brought.
– Young people can be detained for a maximum of three months, but I believe that we need to request an extension of time from the district court. We probably won’t be completely ready within three months.
