Johannes Hösflot Kläbo was again in a class of his own. The women’s race was won by Nadine Fähndrich from Switzerland. Iivo Niskanen took a long bend and was eliminated in the first stage. It didn’t flatter the mood.
Helsinki Ski Weeks’ culminating Stadion Sprint event, which combines show and top sports, was held in Helsinki. The men’s race was won, less surprisingly, by Norway Johannes Hösflot Kläbo and the women’s race in Switzerland Nadine Fähndrich.
The best Finn had stretched for the third time Katri Lylynperä. Lauri Vuorinen reached the men’s finals fourth.

One Finn in the men’s and women’s finals
Norwegian Kläbo and Northug, Vuorinen and Chinese surprise Wang Qiang made it to the finals.
Lylynperä, Appelkvist Stenseth of Norway, Fähndrich of Switzerland and Lampic of Slovenia advanced from the women’s semi-finals to the finals.
Hakola was third in the semi-finals won by Vuorinen. Pärmäkoski could not challenge Lampic from the final place in the second semi-final because he crashed before the final. There was no contact in the situation, but the balance left in a tight bend.
Pärmäkoski also rejoiced at the strong encouragement received from the audience.
