A few weeks ago, Norrman finished tied for ninth place, his best position so far on the pro tour.
68-66-65 is the stable, even and low score line heading into the final round in McKinney.
On the last hole, the Swede chipped in for an eagle and 15 under par in total. He was close to succeeding, but the ball just missed the hole.
The return was no worse than he calmly holed out for the day with the round’s sixth birdie and with a result – a total of 199 strokes – that promises well.
When all players had finished playing, Norrman was tied for fourth place with three players (among other world star Scottie Scheffler), two strokes behind the leading trio, the Americans Austin Eckroat and Ryan Palmer and Dou Zecheng, China.
Henrik Nordlander (66–67–69) is tied for 15th place before the last 18 holes with 202 strokes.
