The rain of ribbons goes hand in hand with the tradition that more men than women are awarded. A total of 159 men and 88 women received an award in the province of Utrecht, in line with the national average. There were also exceptions, because more women than men were decorated in Eemnes, Soest and Stichtse Vecht. In Baarn it was the same.
