The G7 countries promise new sanctions against Russia
G7 finance ministers and central bank governors are wrapping up a three-day meeting in Japan’s Niigata by pledging support for Ukraine and saying they are planning further sanctions against Russia.
In a joint statement, they also say that they should work to bring inflation under control and help those who suffer the most from rising prices.
The talks in the port city of Niigata are in preparation for a summit with G7 leaders in Hiroshima next week.
