The Russians were left without Absolut vodka, Kahlúa, Jameson whiskey, Beefeater gin and Minttu when Pernod Ricard stopped exports for a year as a result of the invasion of Ukraine. But in early April, the French drinks group lifted the export ban – which was met with protests.
For Absolut vodka, the export ban was quickly reintroduced, among other things after a boycott by several Swedish restaurants. Now Pernod Ricard announces that it stopped the export of all international brands already at the end of April.
“We are evaluating how to adapt our local organization as a result of this decision,” the company writes in the press release.
Pernod Ricard has previously stated that Russia accounted for less than 3 percent of total sales before the first export ban and the group had around 300 employees in the country.
