(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Highways for Italy (ASPI) closed the first quarter of 2023 with total operating revenue equal to 943 million euros, an increase of 56 million euros compared to the same period of 2022. The toll revenue amounted to 839 million euros, an increase of 48 million euros compared to the first quarter 2022.
Q1 2023 Consolidated EBITDA (EBITDA) was equal to 520 million euros (-6%), the EBITDA Cash equal to 496 million euros (+7%) and the Net income of the group equal to 163 million euros (-31%).
In the first quarter of 2023 i kilometers traveled on the network of the group grew overall by 8.1% compared to the first quarter of 2022. If compared with 2019, traffic volumes in the first quarter of 2023 were substantially in line with pre-pandemic levels (-0.3% compared to the first quarter of 2019).
L’net financial debt equal to 8,228 million euros, recorded an increase of 111 million euros, which was affected by the decrease in the positive fair value of hedging derivative financial instruments in relation to the decrease in interest rates compared to 31 December 2022.
As part of the operating flows in the first quarter of 2023, the group committed a total of 388 million euros for investments and maintenance represented by: investments operating costs of €285m (€223m in Q1 2022); maintenance costs for 100 million euros (100 million in the first quarter of 2022); unremunerated investments for 3 million euro (68 million in the first quarter of 2022
In the light of the traffic performance in the first four months of the year and of the reference framework for 2023, which projects a still uncertain macroeconomic context in consideration of the continuation of the geopolitical crisis, ASPI estimates that the network traffic can register a contained increase, compared to 2022and, overall, broadly in line with 2019 pre-pandemic levels.
