TikTok is to blame for players not playing tactically anymore

According to the e-sportsman “Pengu”, TikTok is to blame for the fact that Rainbow Six: Siege players can no longer play tactically. The strategic approach is too demanding for them.

Which world champion is it?

  • Niclas “Pengu” Mouritzen is a former Rainbow Six: Siege professional esports player. He is currently working as a caster for Ubisoft’s tactical shooter.
  • During his active career, Pengu twice won the Six Invitational, which is the shooter’s biggest tournament, and is therefore considered a two-time world champion. There are also four ProLeague championships, a major title and winning the European League.
  • Pengu is recognized in Rainbow Six: Siege as one of the greatest and most important players in the shooter and enjoys a high status in the community.
  • He was also able to establish a successful foothold as a streamer and has over 999,000 followers on Twitch.
  • Ubisoft shows the rework of the map “Consulate” in the trailer

    “Playing strategically is too demanding”

In what context does the world champion talk about Tiktok? On Twitter, Twitch streamer Macie Jay sparked a discussion that the current meta of Rainbow Six: Siege feels too much like a team deathmatch and lacks strategy, despite the fact that it is a tactical shooter.

Macie Jay then suggested some gameplay changes that he felt could take the game in a more tactical direction. Pengu joined the discussion, adding that while he shares Macie Jay’s views, he doesn’t think a more strategic playstyle could be forced. Pengu sees the problem in TikTok (via Twitter).

What does the world champion say about TikTok? Pengu believes that tactical play is too demanding for players and current TikTok culture has short attention span, so they can never play strategically.

The justification of the two-time world champion is that players do not take the time to build up a complex strategy and use the tactical realities of the game due to a lack of attention.

Instead, they play a fast character with a powerful weapon and force gunfights. True to the motto: quickly get in, do the job and get out again to play the next match.
