High summer heat is on its way – here it can be 25 degrees this weekend

In the last few days, spring has started in earnest. But now we’re gearing up another big notch.
High summer temperatures await – already this weekend.
– On Sunday it can actually be up to 25 degrees, says TV4’s meteorologist Peter Kondrup.

After a chilly start to spring, the heat has made an entrance this past week, to the delight of many. In large parts of the country, we have become accustomed to blue skies and temperatures of over 15 degrees.

And now a real heat wave is about to sweep in. During Friday, a cold front will indeed pass, but behind it will follow really warm air.

– On Saturday we get 20-23 degrees in southern Sweden and on Sunday we can actually approach 25 degrees in inner Svealand and southern Norrland. It is what we meteorologists call high summer heat, says Peter Kondrup.

– What you have to think about is that it gets colder where the wind blows from the sea, such as for example on the coast in the south-eastern part of the country.

New cover awaits

But the high summer heat is only in a flash. As early as next week, a low pressure will move in and it will be significantly colder.

– The heat will probably last at the beginning of next week. Then it gets cooler and more unstable as it looks, says Peter Kondrup.

The recent sunny weather has made the ground dry in many places. In Stockholm County, a fire ban was issued today. It is, however, permitted to grill on your own property and on fixed barbecue areas in public areas.
