In Paris, in the footsteps of slavery

On this national day of memories of the slave trade, slavery and their abolition, it is an opportunity to remember that Paris is full of places that trace France’s slavery and slavery past. Monuments, statues, embassies and even the Élysée Palace. The Memories and Sharings association offers the general public an unprecedented memorial journey in the footsteps of slavery.


The capital of the French slave empire is full of traces of slavery.  The walk organized by the Memories and Sharings association ends in front of the statue of Charles de Gaulle, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. (Illustrative image)
