The action film SWAT with Colin Farrell and Samuel L. Jackson was rebooted in 2017. At the same time, the film was already a new edition of the cult series from the 70s. According to the Hollywood Reporter, after the announcement of SWAT’s cancellation, the main actor commented on the broadcaster’s decision in an Instagram video. SWAT is the most diverse show on CBS. When I got hired as a Hondo at SWAT, CBS got much criticism due to lack of diversity. If I post this, and I think I could, I’d get in a lot of trouble with CBS for calling them by name. Because they’ve been wonderful to me for 26 of my 29-year career. But being told abruptly that it was canceled when last week – and the week before that and the week before that – they made us think we were probably getting a seventh season , to at least say goodbye if we don’t move on. And to suddenly say, ‘You’re done.’
The SWAT star is urging fans and their families to make noise so CBS realizes the cancellation was a mistake. In the text to his Instagram video, the actor also guarantees that another broadcaster save and continue the series becomes. It remains to be seen whether that will actually happen.
