(Tiper Stock Exchange) – It will kick off on May 19-20 the second edition of Southward International Forum: The European strategy for a new geopolitical, economic and socio-cultural season in the Mediterranean, created by The European House – Ambrosetti with the aim of promoting a paradigm shift for Italy and the southern regions.
With this in mind, it will host top management of Italian institutions and companies from over 20 countries Extended Mediterranean, in two days of debates and networking aimed at the growth and strategic development of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean countries. Present were the Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies and the PNRR, and the country’s primary economic-financial players such as Intesa SanpaoloState Railways, Philip Morris Italia, MSC Group, Adler Group, EdisonMediocredito Centrale – Invitalia, Coldiretti.
The event aspires to be an opportunity to propose projects capable of making Southern Italy a point of reference in the Enlarged Mediterranean on the basis of the vision expressed in the first edition of the White Book. The preparation of second edition of the White Paper is been preceded by a territorial roadshow which has already touched some Regions of Southern Italy, collecting and developing proposals and solutions to be included in the new edition.
With a view to making Verso Sud a platform capable of reaching the managers and entrepreneurs of the future, this year’s Forum also offers a special preview dedicated to young peopleorganized in collaboration with the Mayor of Sorrento, to be held on May 18th.
Also this year the Forum will see the presence of Ministers, business leaders and opinion makers from Southern Italy together with the participation, in this even more relevant edition, of the main exponents and representatives of the Mediterranean countries who will discuss the themes and projects contained in the new edition of the “White Book”. Among the topics covered, the Economy of the Sea, the energy sector, productive/industrial specializations in the new global value chains and the tourism sector as a lever for territorial development.
During the Forum will also be presented the Mediterranean Sustainable Development Index (MSDI), an innovative distinctive and overall monitoring index for the positioning of Southern Italy with respect to the Mediterranean, also with regard to the sustainable development objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
