The character of Doctor Dolittle was created by Hugh Lofting, who made his character the focus of his children’s books. Doctor Dolittle (Robert Downey Jr.) is a slightly eccentric, Victorian-era former doctor who retired from the world after the death of his wife seven years ago. Only a fair number of animals keep him company behind the walls of his estate.
But then the young English monarch Queen Victoria (Jessie Buckley) falls ill and it seems that Dr. Dolittle the only one who could find a cure for her.
