One of Fortnite’s rarest cards just broke the record price at an auction for trading cards from the popular battle royale game. The card was sold for 30,000 euros, making it the number one.
The Battle Royale Fortnite is a massive franchise. In addition to the game, e-sports and lots of accessories, there were also trading cards. It was developed and produced by the Panini publishing house. But the contract between Epic and Panini expired in 2021. Since then, the cards sold have had a high status among collectors.
A particularly valuable card features the legendary Black Knight skin. You could unlock it in Fortnite Season 2 (2017) Battle Pass. Today, it’s one of the rarest and most coveted skins in the game. An account with the Black Knight skin is worth a fortune today.

Why is the card so rare? The Black Knight’s so-called “Crystal Shard” trading card was similarly difficult to obtain. You had to buy a special mega box for that, and it was only available in Target stores or in the international Panini shop. On top of that, there was a 1 in 100 chance of finding the card. Simply put, the card was pretty damn rare when it was released.
How much was the ticket sold for? The Black Knight sold for $34,800 on May 4th. That’s the equivalent of about 30,000 euros. This makes it the best-selling Fortnite card. The last record was $30,000.
Theoretically, even one card was sold for an alleged $55,000. However, the sale was private and neither the buyer nor the seller spoke about the value or made an official confirmation.
