Charlotte Kalla is truly one of Swedish cross-country skiing’s great heroes.
But soon a whole new adventure awaits the 35-year-old – as a mother.

For a full 16 years belonged Charlotte Kalla the top world elite in cross-country skiing. She won an incredible three Olympic golds, three WC golds, a total of 22 championship medals and 37 SM golds during her successful career.
Called career
The 35-year-old is truly one of Swedish skiing’s greatest heroes of all time and one of the absolute most popular. But in the spring of 2022, the successful sports career came to an end when Kalla chose to put the skis on the famous shelf for good.

Thus, she entered a completely new phase of her life, namely the ordinary everyday life that all other Swedes live. But instead of a calm and quiet time after her sports career, Charlotte found new challenges right away.

Charlotte pregnant
Already in the autumn, the skiing hero started studying at Mittuniversitetet in Sundsvall and in recent weeks we have seen Charlotte Kalla dance in the popular TV4 program “Let’s Dance”. And recently came the great news that she is pregnant and will become a mother for the first time in her life.

Together with their partner Fredrik, they are waiting for the child, who is due in a few months. Now Kalla opens up about what it’s like to be pregnant and gives new details about the upcoming baby.
– Yes, we know it will be a summer baby and we have found out the gender, but that is something we keep to ourselves. We haven’t settled on a name yet, we think it’s hard to know before the baby is here. But we have started writing lists of names, she says in an interview with the site Motherhood.

“Is the worst”
Alongside the joy, there is also a clear worry in Charlotte’s head and heart.
– I hope the child will be healthy, that is the biggest worry right now. But also if everything will go well going forward. It’s so hard to know what to expect. It’s the first time I’m going through a pregnancy, I don’t know how I’ll continue to feel like that, she admits in the interview.
Then the 35-year-old is also asked a more private question about whether she feels any “cravings” that pregnant women usually get. Then Kalla makes an unexpected revelation about her pregnancy.
– No, but I don’t have that, haha! I know more what I don’t like. One thing that I feel uncomfortable about is certain smells, such as chewing gum, junk food or bad breath. That’s the worst. So of course, the sense of smell is more acute, she tells the mother site.
