On Saturday and Sunday, the Harmony Square flagpoles and the Sanderson Center marquee will be lit up green to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

Saturday’s historic event is the first coronation of a Canadian head of state and monarch in seven decades.

As a constitutional monarchy and Commonwealth realm, Canada will be marking this milestone event with a number of national initiatives, including an official ceremony in Ottawa.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Peace Tower as well as other federal buildings in Ottawa will be illuminated in emerald-green to mark the coronation.

Canada’s Department of Heritage is encouraging communities across the country to do the same.
