Star Wars is finally coming back to cinemas. Three new movies have recently been announced for the sci-fi franchise. But when should they come? Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy wants to take an example from the James Bond series when it comes to cinema releases.

As Kennedy reported to Empire, she often brought the Bond series into play when discussing the start dates. “They come every three to four years and it [gibt] not the pressure of having a movie in theaters every year.“According to the producer, the Star Wars films should have more of the character of individual events in the future.
Kennedy probably wants to avoid negative fan reactions to the films, the content of which was created under immense time pressure. In particular, Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi and Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker received a lot of opposition from the ranks of the community. Larger intervals between the theatrical releases could allow for a calmer look at what fans actually want.
When are the new Star Wars movies coming out?
It is currently unclear when the three newly planned Star Wars films will be released in cinemas. We expect not before 2025 with the release of another film. In this case, six years would have passed since the last cinematic adventure of the sci-fi saga.
