Over the years, agriculture has become the privileged domain of information and digital technologies. After two years of absence, digitized farms are making a comeback at the 58th edition of the International Agricultural Show which will be held this February 26 until March 6 at Paris Porte de Versailles.

The Paris International Agricultural Show will exhibit the ultimate digital solutions for agricultural world. Many innovations already allow farmers to combine competitiveness, respect for the environment and better working conditions, and in particular with the help of digital science work that has been carried out in these fully computerized farms.

This interconnected network of experimental farms is supported by research structures, benefits from financial aid for development, and multiplies the innovations that have been developed by start-ups.

This so-called 2.0 agriculture recommends the massive use of robots, drones or intelligent computer analysis systems, with however a double objective which is both to optimize crops and livestock, while respecting the ‘environment.

A green revolution that requires common management of data flows

Without joint management of the data flows constantly delivered by the agricultural and agri-food sectors, this connected “green revolution” could not develop around the world, specifies Jérôme Le Roy, president of the association La Ferme Digitale, who will present at the show Paris Agriculture International, the concrete achievements of France in this area.

The association La Ferme Digitale, which was created five years ago, brings together 80 members who are developing new technologies for agriculture and the food sector. This research work carried out on experimental farms aims to transfer these innovations directly to farmers so that they can optimize crop management, manage soil life or even develop channels for storing carbon on French farms. . To demonstrate the advances in digital technology at the service of agriculture, we installed 600 m2 of stands and decided to organize 80 conferences during the nine days of the Show. They will deal with subjects as varied as the environment, short circuits, the traceability of foodstuffs and digital services intended for the agricultural world. »

Jérôme Le Roy specifies that thanks to the conferences, visitors will thus be able to have a complete overview of the new forms of agriculture which are developing in France with the strong desire to bring out from our country a reference ecosystem which will serve as a model for European actors. and then potentially to the rest of the world.

Networked farms

These farms operate in collaborative and networked mode and will soon become the standard for future farms. These will be living places where it is good to work and in which the farmer will become the online community manager of his farm.

A “green and digital revolution” which also has the will to take up the challenge of sovereignty and food security, affecting from north to south, more and more countries that are victims of climate change. Remember that between now and 2050, our world risks suffering long periods of famine if we do not manage to produce 70% more food, while respecting, or so we hope, our mother earth.
