A correctional officer at the prison in Karlskoga is fired after he stole over 24,000 kroner from inmates, writes SVT Nyheter Örebro.
The man had access to the keys to the prisoners’ safes and when one of the inmates noticed that money was missing, the man confessed. It turned out that the man stole money from five different lockers – a total of SEK 24,430.
According to the decision of the Prison Service’s personnel responsibility board, the man is dismissed with immediate effect.
