Here the trees have been felled – in the middle of the Skogsmullespåret

Skogsmulle’s activity track is a walking loop where the children can be challenged at different stations, for example crawling in tunnels, climbing or balancing on logs. But since last autumn, the track has not been the same when the trees at the entrance were felled.

– We have been contacted by parents who were concerned that there is a risk of the damaged trees falling, says Henrik Skoglund, vice chairman of Södertälje-Nykvarn orientation, which together with Friluftsfrämjandet looks after the Mullespåret for Södertälje municipality.

Children learn about damaged forest

When SVT is in place in the track, a preschool group appears. For them, the damaged trees have become part of the teaching.

– We have looked at the felling and talked to the children about the spruce bark drills, says Åsa Lundén, preschool teacher at Grusåsen’s preschool.
