Nesser has previously told TT that he considers the indictment to be “incomprehensible”, but when the Swedish Tax Agency in 2019 increased his assessment, he described himself in a statement as “almost a financial idiot”. Håkan Nesser denies any crime and believes that the distributions were made on the advice of the adviser and that he had no intention of committing a crime.
