– This is the most fun of the whole season, says a charged Anton Hjort, who is part of the Söderhamn team that made it to the final by defeating BTK Rekord in two straight games.
Aiming for the seventh team gold
Söderhamn has won the team championship six times. The last time it happened was in 2021. Now Eslöv awaits, with 13 men’s golds in the table tennis team game, and the challenge is no less because the Swedish world player Truls Möregårdgh is part of the opposing team.
– We beat them both times in the series, once with Truls in the team and once without, so it’s probably fifty fifty, says Peter Blomquist who is the coach for Söderhamn UIF.
Series victory gives home field advantage
The final game will be decided in the best of three games and if it goes to a third decisive game, that game will be played in Söderhamn because the team took home the series victory.
– It’s always nice to have a home game with the crowd behind you if it were to be decisive, says Viktor Brodd, one of the key players in Söderhamn.
