A young woman was found dead in an apartment in central Örebro at around 1pm on Saturday. A person has now been arrested on reasonable suspicion of murder.
– The circumstances are such that we can suspect that she was killed, says Anders Dahlman, press spokesperson at the Bergslagen police region.
It was just after 1pm on Saturday that the police were called to the address in central Örebro, and found the young woman dead.
The police cordoned off the suspected crime scene, and a preliminary investigation into murder was launched.
One person arrested
Shortly after the police were in the apartment, the suspected perpetrator was found in another location in Örebro. The person was then arrested after questioning with the police on reasonable suspicion of the crime, which is the lower level of suspicion.
– In the preliminary investigation, we have come so far that we have a person who is being questioned. After we interrogated this person, we contacted the prosecutor, who chose to arrest a person reasonably suspected of murder, says Anders Dahlman.
Two more people questioned
Two more people were brought in for questioning on Saturday, but they are not suspects in the case.
If the woman and the arrested person have any relationship to each other, the police do not want to comment at this time. They also cannot comment on possible additions because they are in an early stage of the preliminary investigation.
According to SVT Nyheter Örebro the dead woman is supposed to be in her 20s.
Her next of kin have been informed of the incident.
