Leaders in Ukraine now say they are ready to launch the spring offensive planned to retake lost territory.
– People are ready to get started. These are the ones they want, says Deputy Brigade Commander “Discus”.
The heavy fire that raged on Saturday in an oil depot in Sevastopol on the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula is said to be under control. According to the governor appointed by Russia, the fire was caused by a drone attack from a hostile direction.
Practice started
At the same time, the Ukrainian spring offensive is approaching, the purpose of which is to take back Russian-occupied areas in the eastern parts of the country. Today, Ukrainian soldiers trained in the southeastern Zaporizhzhya region.
– Practice is in full swing. I think the soldiers are ready to carry out any order shortly, says “Discus”, deputy brigade commander of the Ukrainian army.
The Defense Minister’s promise
According to NATO, Ukraine now has the military capabilities required for a counteroffensive, and Ukraine’s defense minister agrees:
– We are ready. Now it is up to the General Staff and the military leadership. We will start as soon as the weather permits, says Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
