The largest German Twitch streamer says what his girlfriend shouldn’t wear in a relationship and is criticized

Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich (25) is the biggest streamer on German Twitch. You usually know him for gaming and reaction content or sometimes for special events. But Twitter is talking about him for another reason: users accuse the 25-year-old of sexism because of a video.

What is this clip? On April 28, Twitter user Rito shared a clip that doesn’t put EliasN97 in a good light. In the video, the streamer talks about a supposed fashion trend among women to wear underpants so that they are visible over the waistband.

For the 25-year-old, this has nothing to do with fashion, he wants to warn his viewers if their girlfriends want to party like this or stay with their “best friends”. He insinuates that women who behave in this way in public are disloyal and “hurried”.

A discussion quickly arose in the comments: while some agree with the streamer, others find his view outdated and bothered by his behavior.

It’s hard to tell exactly when the footage was taken, as there are no clips or VODs on EliasN97’s twitch channel. Probably a good decision, as videos taken out of context online can quickly take on a life of their own.

Criticism even comes from her own girlfriend

What bothers the viewers? Some commenters on Twitter consider the streamer’s statements to be sexist and outdated. Rito, who shared the clip, calls the opinion “straight from the Neanderthal.” His own girlfriend doesn’t seem too enthusiastic either: you can hear her discussing with EliasN97 in the video.

The behavior that EliasN97 shows when talking to his girlfriend also displeases some users. The streamer keeps interrupting her, talking over her, or yelling “hurry” while she’s speaking.

In addition, the 25-year-old makes a somewhat self-righteous impression in some places: He can say that, his advertising partners are behind him, many would certainly not like the statements, but he doesn’t care.

In the end he puts things into perspective: that’s just his personal opinion, such outfits are out of the question for him in a relationship, but others might find it less bad. We have included the clip for you here:

The users in the comments are by no means unanimous: many agree with EliasN97 or at least think that he has the right to freely express his opinions. The streamer himself said nothing about the recordings.

In contrast to his Twitch colleague MontanaBlack, who is known for his somewhat chubby nature, EliasN97 actually has a pretty good, clean image. Maybe that’s why the expectations of him are higher and the outcry correspondingly greater when he behaves in the eyes of the critics.
