The first real evidence that the Nintendo Switch 2 is on the way has appeared in a job posting for someone to work on “other Nintendo platforms.”
Nintendo Switch, one of the best-selling game consoles, upset users when it did not come out with the backward compatibility feature. It seems that Nintendo is making moves to regulate this in the next generation or new version.
Staff wanted in France for Nintendo Switch 2
Each of the Nintendo consoles provided compatibility with the previous generation. While the Wii U could play Wii games, the Wii also worked in compatibility with the GameCube. However, this did not happen on Switch. While the company’s Nintendo Switch 2 work continues, rumors are constantly coming out.
We all know the Nintendo Switch 2 should arrive in the next year or two, but no one outside of Nintendo has any idea when exactly it will appear or what shape it will take.
Although there is no official statement from the company, a job description in France seems to clearly describe working in a next generation format. The job description of the person sought to work at NERD (Nintendo Europe Research and Development) based in Paris specifically refers to ‘other Nintendo platforms’ beyond the Switch and appears to be someone who will work on the new console.
It is also clearly stated in the same statement that they are looking for an engineer who can work on cross-platform support. This means that if a new version of either the Nintendo Switch 2 or the next console is released, it will be backwards compatible.
